The 2 – Young People Taking Control

An exciting and innovative project is being launched here in Leicester called the The 2 – it will be a Children & Young People’s owned and managed Media organisation.

The location is the 2nd floor of the Voluntary Action Leicester building and the plan is to open the facility late into the evening and at weekends in order to provide maximum access to Young People.

The aim is to equip the Young People with the necessary skills to be able to produce content for the News Agency that will focus on all Young People.

The entire facility is guided by Hear By Right that offers a tried and tested standards framework for organisations to assess and improve policy and practice on the active involvement of children and young people. They have the right to participate in the issues and services that affect them, and their engagement is essential in seeking to achieve the best possible outcomes for them, as set out in Every Child Matters:
