Our inner strengths, experiences, and truths cannot be lost, destroyed, or taken away. Every person has an inborn worth and can contribute to the human community.
We all can treat one another with dignity and respect, provide opportunities to grow toward our fullest lives and help one another discover and develop our unique gifts. We each deserve this and we all can extend it to others.

Hatnews invites its valuable readers irrespective of their background, be they asylum seekers, refugees, highly-skilled immigrants and/or those from their respective native lands who may be journalists, creative writers, poets, authors and indeed anyone with a keen interest in writing or art/photography to freely send in their submissions for publication on our site.

The main aims for this call are :

  • to be a catalyst for exhibition of any unpublished works in art and literature
  • to harmonise understanding of diverse cultures, history and heritage.
  • to promote sharing of information and ideas
  • to motivate interest in writing
  • to give prominence to the voices and skills of marginalised individuals or groups
  • translate various experiences into concrete social change

Any news, short stories, essays (eg. about experiences here and back there, in our respective countries that we came from), poems, discussive texts, fiction, photo-galleries, interviews, comments, reviews are welcome.

Announcements for weddings, funerals, birthdays, workshops to do with asylum seekers and refugees or immigrants, tutorials, panels or graduation parties etc are also welcome.

Texts authored in languages other than English are accepted with accompanying translation to English. We will consider contributions or material that has been published before but this must be made explicit at the time of submission.

Please submit your contributions by emailing the editor on editor@hatnews.org
